Item description compliance

C
Written by Christina Tamaroglio

Koalafi has set guidelines and expectations to ensure item descriptions are accurate, clear, readable, and compliant. This is to ensure compliance with state laws that require sufficient detail to identify leased property.

Accurate descriptions

Each leased item or bundled package must be described with enough detail to identify the property being leased. The following principles outline the standards for a sufficient Item Description.

Item Descriptions must:

  • Include all relevant identifying information such as make, model, type, quantity, or other applicable identifiers.

  • State whether the property is new or used

  • Include any known existing damage at the time of entering into the agreement.

  • Contain complete, identifying, and uncondensed descriptions without abbreviations or vagueness.

Bundles and packages

Koalafi allows bundles and packages if they contain leasable items and comply with the applicable service cap based on your state. These line items must also comply with the item description guidelines from above.

Invoice alignment

Koalafi requires that your itemized invoices and lease details match each other. This includes any incidental services that are on the purchase (Disposal, Recycling, Tire Fees/Taxes).
